Travelling Sri Lanka 2010//2011

yeah folks - i was outta here for two months experiencing the tropical sights & sounds of SRI LANKA. travelling opens the heart, because you have to adapt to new places, people and situations and always profit from it in a way. open minded people, different lifestyle and priorities, some old-school values which seem good to me (like strong family, natural women, hospitality, generosity...), beautiful landscapes, great & healthy food and a fascinating ancient medicine keep in my mind when remembering my journey. doing my thing a little apart from the main tourist attractions and hotspots, i was seeing the spectrum from poor to luxury lifestyles and areas, some of the 2004 tsunami damage and the 'normal life' in non-tourist villages. these are definetely the areas with the most friendly and not too 'focused-on-the-money'-typ-of-individuals... bus driving on sri lanka is shocking because the busses are crowded like f##k - but the cool thing about it is, that the doors are always open while driving and you can jump on the bus or out the bus at nearly every moment. even as a single person you can give the busdriver a sign you want to enter, so he's driving a little slower and you jump inside while people near the door reach you their hands to drag you inside safely. nice, huh!?
